Latah in the original language of the Nez Perce people, means “the place of pine trees and pestle.” Here you’ll find the native and oh-so stately Western White pine growing in abundance. In fact, the city of Potlatch claimed the largest Western White pine sawmill in the world for decades, until its closure in 1981.
