The largest city located in Madison County, Idaho is Rexburg—home to the BYU-Idaho campus, a thriving, growing community, and a diversified economy bringing new investment to the area. Thanks to the University presence, there is a strong secondary home and rental market in Rexburg. Rexburg is surrounded by volcanic wonders: cinder cones, spatter cones, shield volcanoes and lava fields that spill into the nearby Craters of the Moon National Monument. It’s a geological wonderland, close to the St. Anthony Sand Dunes and not far from Yellowstone National Park and the Teton Range. For all the natural wonders, it’s surprising that Madison County can still offer affordable land and a lower cost of living than elsewhere in the country.
